Trio of Rebels Earn Accolades Following Big Win Over Hornets

Congratulations to Strom Thurmond High School quarterback, Quan Edmond; wide receiver Braylon Staley; and running back Chris Barnes, upon earning special recognition for their terrific performances in the team's last game versus Aiken High, a dominating 48-12 victory at home (Sept. 1).

Braylon was named Class AA Upper State Offensive "Player of the Week" by the South Carolina Football Coaches Association (SCFCA) after catching six passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns, while Chris was named Class AA Upper State Special Teams "Player of the Week" by the SCFCA after blocking a punt (recovered in the end zone by Tre Clarke for a Rebels' touchdown) and an extra point attempt.

Quan, who completed 15 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 30 yards, and Braylon, also earned "Game Balls" from The Aiken Standard for their outstanding play.

Way to go Quan, Braylon and Chris!

The Rebels will be back on the field tomorrow night (9/15) for 2023 Homecoming when they face the visiting Evans Knights. Purchase your tickets today at our normal pre-game ticket sale locations.
