Strom Thurmond Career & Technology Center Students Recognized by Edgefield County School Board for State Awards

Johnston, SC - Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center (STCTC) DECA students Jocelyn Temples and Paige Pride were honored by the Edgefield County School Board (ECSB) during its Tuesday, June 13, 2023, regular meeting for winning "First Place Gold" for their "Program of Work" detailing service projects of the DECA program during the 2022-2023 school year. Jocelyn and Paige also traveled to Orlando, Florida, to represent STCTC and Strom Thurmond High School (STHS) at the DECA Nationals Competition. Jocelyn, a Class of 2023 graduate of STHS, and Paige, a rising STHS junior, were joined at the meeting by STCTC DECA Advisor, Lisa Skinner.

Strom Thurmond Career & Technology Center (STCTC) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student and Class of 2023 graduate, Taylor Simpkins, was recognized by ECSB members for her top overall score in the state of South Carolina in the FBLA "Healthcare Administration" assessment. The assessment measures student knowledge of the healthcare profession and tests their decision-making skills and business acumen. Taylor's FBLA Advisor is Michelle Smith (not pictured).
